Chief Executive Officer Frederick Marx founded Keylingo in 2004 to help businesses everywhere do business anywhere. His formative experience in cross cultural communication as a Global Product Manager for SQM in Santiago, Chile, shaped an appreciation for the science and art of translation. Frederick's entrepreneurial drive fosters a fervent empathy for our clients' needs and aspirations, while his affinity for the bon mot assures crisp and engaging conversation. Frederick earned a BA in Economics from Old Dominion University and an MBA from Emory University.
Frederick is our CEO. He founded Keylingo Translations to help businesses everywhere do business anywhere. Born into a military family, international travel and language are two things about which Frederick has been familiar since the age of three. Now slightly older, Frederick believes that good translation is even more "Key" today than it was back then. From managing a commercial loan portfolio of international clients, to receiving his MBA at the Goizueta Business School, and on to working as an expat in Santiago, Chile Frederick honed his business skills before striking out on his own. Now with Keylingo well established and successful, Frederick is living his entrepreneurial dream and has now set his sights on helping others do the same.
"I was first exposed to translation while working as an expat in Chile. Shortly after arriving in 2001, I was asked to translate the chairman's letter that would appear in the company's annual report. I did the "translation" and I didn't get fired, so I suppose I did a satisfactory job. But I knew it was far from professional and was surprised that I was asked to do the translation in the first place. My short career as a translator ended after that one job, but the seed for my career as a translation company owner was planted. The seed took root and Keylingo was started in 2004 upon my return to the US."
